The Group operates state-of-the-art satellite equipment and wireless infrastructure which provides an unrivalled multi-platform, multi-service broadband wireless access (BWA) to enable internet-based applications.
We offer consultancy, design, implementation and support for wireless networks and web-based applications, such as internet telephony (VoIP), GSM over Internet Protocol (IP), videoconferencing, remote monitoring, vehicle tracking, e-learning and business collaboration.
Our highly skilled management team is drawn from the satellite, wireless and IP based applications sectors and offers a deep understanding of client and market needs. This experience offers an advantage over many regional competitors, as does the company's portfolio of innovative solutions, support and service levels.
Delivering universal last-mile access is one of the biggest technical challenges in telecommunications today, as most last-mile connections involve physical structures such as phone lines, fibre optics and cable. This is costly and complex to install and maintain, as are the associated cable networks, so wireless is an obvious choice for masses, which need broadband connectivity and areas characterised by difficult environments. This has led to exponential growth in satellite-based services and these have proven to be highly cost-effective and faster to deploy. With its enabling technologies, experience and capability, DigitalSkys is well positioned to capture a highly profitable share of its target market, the broadband wireless service for both connectivity and applications.
We believe fast growth and recurring revenue streams are two conditions for long-term success and profitability. To ensure the achievement of these objectives, we plan to rapidly expand our marketing and sales channels to focus on strategic selling, which will develop the necessary momentum to establish a large long-term client base.
In addition:
- Our multiple satellites and multiple wireless technologies should enable us to reach a significantly broader audience and new markets and service their diverse needs, particularly in geographically and economically challenging environments where infrastructure is limited or non-existent.
- We can serve either as a first tier provider or as a second-level carrier and offer complementary services to help existing telecommunications service providers extend their networks and customer base.
- Our focus on applications delivery results in greater loyalty and maintains a high number of users, by selling additional services, with business models based upon a convergence of voice, data and video triple play.
- Our directors' experience will help build strategic alliances and relation ships with clients, channel partners and resellers.
We use a contract-based recurring revenue model, with quarterly to annual payments in advance.
With the progress made to date, we have been able to invest further into infrastructure to extend our satellite coverage possibilities beyond our present coverage of the Middle East, Africa, Europe and parts of the Asian sub-continent, to enter the lucrative South American markets, together with being in place to consider new satellite services that extend our coverage possibilities into the Asian, Chinese, Australasian and Pacific markets.
The introduction of the new 'GSM over IP' service should put us at the leading edge of this technology. We have secured our operating platform for this sought after technology and are confident of securing major project wins.
